SPEAKER: VK Preston, Concordia University 

VK Preston is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Concordia University (Montreal), specializing in dance and performance research. VK's work appears at intersections of history and the performing arts in scholarship that traverses difficult history, embodiment, and performance archives with areas of focus on kinesthetics and the history of the senses. VK is currently at work on their first monograph. Their research has appeared in Theatre Journal, TDR / The Drama Review, Imagined Theatres: Writing for a Theoretical Stage, The Oxford Handbook of Dance and Theatre, The Oxford Handbook of Danced Reenactment, Performance Research, and History, Memory, Performance. VK also works as a dramaturg and interlocutor with contemporary dance artists and with socially engaged practice.
